3rd Nikanewin Awards to Engage Furture First Nations Entrepreneurs

Wendake, January 16th, 2023 – The First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Economic Development Commission (FNQLEDC) is proud to announce that the application period for the third edition of the Nikanewin Bursaries begins today. These bursaries aim to stimulate entrepreneurship among First Nations members by helping them move from the entrepreneurial idea stage to the action stage.

The Nikanewin bursaries will be awarded to individuals with a business project, 18 years of age or older, living in Quebec (on or off community). Thanks to partnerships with Hydro-Quebec and Bell, one $5,000 and 11 $2,500 bursaries will be awarded to the winning projects, for a total of $32,500. All bursary recipients will also be able to benefit from the support of FNQLEDC entrepreneurship advisors during the various stages of development of their projects (e.g. business plan, financial forecast, search for financing, etc.).
