Annual General Assembly of the FNQLHSSC: “Remotely together”
Wendake, September 17, 2020 – Due to the pandemic, the members of the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC) got together remotely for their first virtual Annual General Assembly.
Following the elections, which took place on Wednesday morning, the composition of the Board of Directors remains unchanged:
President: Derek Montour, Kahnawake
Vice-President of Health: David McLaren, Kebaowek
Vice-President of Social Services: Amanda Larocque, Gesgapegiag
Secretary-Treasurer: Betty Carré, Essipit
Other Board members: Donna V. Metallic, Listuguj
Jean Vollant, Odanak
Karine Régis, Uashat mak Mani-Utenam
The FNQLHSSC would like to thank the members of its Board of Directors for their boundless dedication to the FNQLHSSC and the First Nations communities and organizations, especially over the past few months which have been particularly uncertain and arduous.
It is clear that their work has been recognized and appreciated since the members of the Assembly decided to renew their terms, thus reflecting the trust they have in each of them.
In addition to the elections, this event was also an opportunity to present the 2019-2020 annual report as well as the priority activities for 2020-2021.

Supported by a strong and united Board of Directors, the FNQLHSSC will pursue its mission as it must, namely by accompanying Quebec First Nations in achieving their health, wellness, culture and self-determination goals.
