Congratulations to our 5 volunteers for completing the Canadian Youth Leadership program in partenership with the Rupertsland Institute!

The Canadian Youth Leadership program offered in collaboration with the Rupertsland Institute is now complete. Katimavik would like to congratulate the five volunteers who took part in the experience! For the last 5 months, our house in Peterborough, Ontario hosted five Métis youth coming from Alberta. Focused on the development of leadership skills, the girls did wonderful in the community thanks to their multiple implications. Overall, they generously contributed over 3,500 volunteer hours to the city of Peterborough!

“This has been the best life changing experience I have ever had and I would definitely recommend it to other youth who would like to try something new with their lives.”- Skye S.

The volunteers performed various tasks in the community through their involvement with work partners, community organizations and municipal governments in the region. They managed to do it all while attending study sessions at Trent University. Just like all Katimavik volunteers before them, the youth developed a tremendous amount of skills in a short period of time.

Our volunteers are wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2015!

Katimavik would like to thank its partners in Peterborough who made this program possible:
