Ionkwatahónhsate Victims Services announces Symposium for Victims of Crimes
(Kahnawake – 7, Enníska/February 2024) The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Ionkwatahónhsate Victims Services, in conjunction with First Nations Representatives Services, is pleased to announce the second Victims of Crime Information Symposium, which offers a safe space for all Kahnawa’kehró:non to access information and resources.
‘Ionkwatahónhsate,’ which means ‘we are all listening,’ invites community members to the Mohawk Legion Branch 219 from 9am – 1pm on Tuesday, February 13 th. The agenda is as follows:
• Ohén:ton Karihwatéhkwen (Ahonwakerane Stacey)
• Compensation & Emergency Funding Presentation (IVAC and Justice Quebec)
• Tekanonhkwatsherane:ken/Two Medicines Working Side By Side Traditional Medicine Services (Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre will provide information about traditional healing that is available to all community members.)
• Traditional lunch made by Berry-Licious Catering All Kahnawa’kehró:non are welcome; no registration is required, and lunch is free. For more information, call Iris Montour at 450-638-5647.
