KRG: Radio Announcement
The Kativik Environmental Advisory Committee (KEAC) in collaboration with the Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement (BAPE) has scheduled a consultation on the status and management of final waste in Nunavik on June 9 and 10, 2021.
“Final waste is that which is found at the very end of the cycle of sorting, recovery and reclamation of residual materials”.
The consultation is intended to provide recommendations to the Minister of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MELCC), in the elaboration of a long-term strategy for the management of final waste throughout Québec. The Nunavik portion of the consultation will serve as an opportunity for communities and regional organizations to express their views and spread awareness on the realities related to residual materials management in the region. A special session for the general public is scheduled for June 9 between 2:00pm and 4:00pm and will be held remotely.
