Listuguj Education Collaborates with Surrounding Schools for First Truth and Reconciliation Walk and Ceremony
Wednesday, September 25, 2024 – The Listuguj Education Directorate, in collaboration with local schools, has organized a Truth and Reconciliation Walk and Ceremony for Friday, September 27th, 2024. This meaningful school event will reunite the following schools in our area:
- Alaqsite’w Gitpu School
- Lord Beaverbrook School
- Le Galion des Appalaches
- Campbellton Middle School
- Polyvalente Roland-Pépin
- Sugarloaf Senior High School
- École Père-Pacifique
DETAILS OF THE EVENT
Schools will gather at the Restigouche River Experience parking lot to start the walk. We will walk to the Campbellton Civic Centre using the walking path along Salmon Blvd.
Time:
Starting at 9:30 a.m. (New-Brunswick)
Starting at 8:30 a.m. (Quebec)
This event provides a valuable opportunity for young people to learn about the history and realities of their neighbouring Mi’gmaq communities and the reconciliation efforts underway in Canada. The Listuguj Education Directorate is grateful to all schools for joining us as we honour our Residential School Survivors.
