Makivvik Corporation: Notice – Community Elections

This is to inform the public that the Call for Nominations is open for the position of community director of Makivvik Corporation, for the following communities:

Killiniq

Tasiujaq

Umiujaq

Ivujivik

Kangirsuk

Kangirsujuaq

Elections will be a hybrid model with online and in-person voting. Physical polls will be open from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M in the communities mentioned above on the following dates:

Advanced polls: Monday, April 3^rd, 2023

Election Day: Thursday, April 6^th, 2023

*Runoff Election: Thursday, April 13^th, 2023

*In the event that no candidate is able to obtain a majority (50%+1) of the votes in a given community, a Runoff election between the two (2) candidates earning the most votes will be held in the concerned community.

Nomination forms can be found at the Local Municipal Office, the local Landholding Corporation, on the Makivvik website at www.makivik.org or by requesting a copy by emailing elections@makivik.org
