Kahnawake – 15, Enníska/February 2021) The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that the current State of Emergency has been extended for an additional period of 30 days.

The Mohawk Council Resolution was passed by Consensus at today’s duly convened Council meeting. This Resolution includes the extension of the Mandate for the Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force.

This new extension is dated from February 21 to March 21, 2021. The State of Emergency has been in effect since it was initially declared on April 21, 2020. As required by Kahnawà:ke law, the State of Emergency must be renewed on a monthly basis.

These actions have been taken to ensure the protection of Kahnawà:ke’s jurisdiction while the community addresses all matters related to the pandemic.
