This is exactly what the Wolastoqiyik Wahsipekuk First Nation is proposing with Putep ‘t-awt, the beluga whale observation trail that was built in Cacouna, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, in spring 2024.
Combining Indigenous culture, wildlife conservation and intergenerational sharing, this project offers an unforgettable experience for visitors and demonstrates the strength of a people reclaiming their land and developing it sustainably.
