Nitsénhaienhs to attend Regional Engagement Sessions

(Kahnawake – 14, Enníska/February 2023) The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to advise the community that Nitsénhaienhs Ross Montour and Iohahi:io Delisle will be attending the Regional Engagement Sessions being hosted by the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador and the First Nations Quebec-Labrador Sustainable Development Institute.

The event is taking place in Montreal today (Tuesday) until Thursday, February 16.

The agenda includes presentations and discussions on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and its implementation; new Federal Legislation on Drinking Water and Wastewater in First Nations Communities; and the Creation of the Federal Canada Water Agency.

Ratsénhaienhs Montour will attend the UNDRIP sessions, while Ratsénhaienhs Delisle will attend the sessions relating to water.
