Premier Kathleen O’Day Wynne’s Speech in response to the Truth and Reconciliation’s final report
Published June 1, 2016 – The Ontario government has furthered its commitment to Indigenous people with a landmark announcement this past week in response to the Truth and Reconciliation’s final report from last year. As you can see in this video, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne has offered Indigenous people ‘a formal apology for the abuses of the past’. They also outline their plan to embrace all 94 calls for action from TRC’s final report, while spending $250 million over the next 3 years. The Premier also announced the name change of the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs to the Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation.
