Ratsénhaienhs Montour attending AFN Special Chiefs Assembly

(Kahnawake – 3, Onerahtókha/April 2023) The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ratsénhaienhs Ross Montour is attending the Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly (SCA), which begins today in Ottawa.

Chiefs and technicians from across the country will be present to hear Canada’s current draft National Action Plan to implement the United Nations Declaration On The Rights Of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and to review, debate, and recommend content and recommendations for inclusion in Canada’s final National Action Plan.

Ratsénhaienhs Montour will be accompanied by Chief Political Advisor Winona Polson-Lahache. The SCA concludes on Thursday, April 6. Both Montour and Polson-Lahache return to the office on Tuesday, April 11, following the long holiday weekend.
